ÖZET
Çağdaş felsefe, matematik dünyasındaki gelişmelerin felsefe dünyasına etkide bulunduğu önemli örneklerle doludur. Bu çalışmada onlardan biri konu edilmektedir. Söz konusu örnek çağdaş matematiğin öncülerinden David Hilbert’in biçimselci matematik felsefesinin, Viyana Çevresi’nin başlıca düşünürlerinden Rudolf Carnap’ın analitik felsefesi üzerindeki etkisidir. Çalışmanın iddiası, Carnap’ın (1) hoşgörü ilkesinin, (2) doğrulanabilirlik ölçütünün ve (3) analitik metafelsefesinin, Hilbert’in biçimselci matematik felsefesinden bağımsız olarak anlaşılamayacağıdır.

ABSTRACT
Contemporary philosophy is full of important examples in which the developments in the world of mathematics influence the world of philosophy. This study concerns an important one of them. This example is the influence of David Hilbert, one of the pioneers of contemporary mathematics, on the analytical philosophy of Rudolf Carnap, one of the main philosophers of the Vienna Circle. The study asserts that Carnap's (1) principle of tolerance, (2) verifiability criterion and (3) analytic metaphilosophy cannot be understood independently of Hilbert's formalist philosophy of mathematics.
