ABSTRACT

The experience of radical evil, which, along with the totalitarian regime, has succeeded in creating human sequences that march to their death, has established its own hell under the conditions of total domination; and in the world we live in, between man and man. The very basic questions about the very basic issues that continue to disturb us - evil, responsibility, thinking, judgment, etc. - are inherited to the present day. Arendt brought the agenda these basic questions in his works; the problems pointed out by the questions to the discussion took a significant step. The most important problem to be faced by Otto Adolf Eichmann, one of the leading war criminals of the time, is how a person who seems perfectly normal cannot distinguish right from wrong. The ability to share the world with others and the ability to differentiate right from wrong is not only lacking in Eichmann, but also in silent eyewitnesses who have somehow endorsed totalitarian violence. This striking phenomenon is the starting point of Arendt's study of The Life of the Mind, which he intended to write about thinking, will and judgment. Since her life was not enough to complete the final chapter of this book for judgment, we had to follow the clues in other texts and carefully assemble the pieces of hermeneutic puzzle as we tried to discover where she wanted to go. It would be appropriate to consider our efforts as an attempt to determine the role of the judgement in the field of human relations.
