WITTGENSTEIN VE MOORE: KESİNLİK VE ŞÜPHECİLİK ÜZERİNE BİR SORUŞTURMA

ÖZET

“Varlığa ilişkin bilgiyi epistemolojik açıdan herhangi bir şüpheye yer bırakmayacak şekilde temellendirmek mümkün müdür?” sorusu erken modern dönemden bu yana felsefenin merkezi temalarından birisi olagelmiştir. 20.

ABSTRACT

The question “is it possible to justify the knowledge of existence in an epistemological way without any doubt” has been one of the central themes of philosophy since the early modern period. Two important philosophers of the 20th century, G. E. Moore and L. Wittgenstein, treat the question itself as a problem, instead of answering it. Wittgenstein claims that skepticism is meaningless because it seeks the ultimate ground of knowledge in a non-linguistic context. Moore on the other hand argues that skepticism is a paradoxical philosophical position. In this study, Wittgenstein's and Moore's criticisms of skepticism and the similarities and differences between these criticisms will be discussed. To this end first, Moore's critique of skepticism, then Wittgenstein's criticism of Moore and his arguments against skepticism will be dealt with. Finally, it will be argued that Wittgenstein's anti-skepticism is philosophically better justified through the semantic background of his philosophy.
